For Brian CIC is a small not-for-profit company dedicated to improving the lives of people living with with dementia and their carers. Our principal aims are to be:
Inclusive Activities will be designed with people with dementia and their families in mind, but will be open to all whether they have a diagnosis of dementia or not. An activity that is good for people with dementia is good for everyone’s brain health and general wellbeing, and vice versa. For Brian will aim to improve the ‘visibility’ of people with dementia, involving them in their communities with people of all generations and walks of life.
Accessible People with dementia and their families face considerable challenges 24/7 which isolate and make accessing activities difficult. People with dementia and their families will be helped to access activities delivered by ‘For Brian’. Access will never be limited by area or postcode.
Sustainable ‘For Brian’ will aim (through organising funding applications and bridge funding, and collaborating with partners) to ensure continuity of delivery of meaningful and beneficial activities.
Person-centered Activities will be co-produced with people for whom these activities are intended. They will be designed to accommodate people’s different needs and abilities. Activities will be built with flexibility to be modified according to peoples input and feedback.
State-of -the-art All activities working and communicating with people living with dementia will be informed by the latest evidence and understanding from the sphere of Neuropsychology, Neuroscience and dementia research. Evidence of benefits amassed from ‘For Brian’ activities will be fed back for the benefit of others.
